Greetings in the name of our Lord, God and Saviour, Jesus Christ!
My name is Kami Ward, and I am blessed to be leading the choir at Holy Nativity Orthodox Church. My life has always been full of music, whether studying the violin throughout my childhood, or studying singing to earn my Masters in Early Music Voice Performance.
Choirs have always inhabited a restful place in my heart, and I have been singing in choirs for as long as I can remember! The human voice carries the beauty of melody, as well as the blessing of meaningful text, and there is nothing more beautiful to me than a choir of voices who desire to praise God by offering back to Him the gifts He has bestowed.
In the divine liturgy, we join with the choirs of angels, and seek to make our music as beautiful as we are able, in order to surround the people with heavenly sounds. Peace, joy, reverence, humility, repentance, praise… all of these we seek to offer to God in prayer, and my prayer is that the Holy Nativity Choir will ‘help’ the community of believers to enter into worship of our most Holy God.
